After experiencing Indian education for 16 years, I decided to come to the US for grad studies. I'd say getting accepted into CU Boulder was one of the happiest days of my life. I'm eternally grateful to CU Boulder because, honestly, otherwise ... I don't know where my life would be today.
A new phase of my life began after I read this letter, with loads of official paperwork that had to be completed. And a couple months later - I flew to the United States. I was really excited to embark on this new journey of my life.
The Journey
I've traveled via flights quite a lot, and I'm one to enjoy travel. The idea of flying for 22 hours didn't really trouble me one bit. I Flew via Qatar Airlines, and overall... a lovely journey; nothing terrible happened; I ended up playing some really good games and some OK games. I watched a couple of movies and shows and got free WiFi just for texting – It was all I needed.
I'm not a picky eater; I don't really care what I eat as long as it's above average, vegetarian, and fills my stomach. So I'd say the food was good, and the entertainment - Better.
As someone who made very few friends during the past 10-15 years, funnily, I somehow managed to make a friend during my trip. She was a really cool person. We immigrated together and gave each other company throughout the journey. Definitely made the trip more fun.
Destination - SFO
I got really excited as I set my eyes on US Soil. I was excited to see my sister, who was also picking me up. I was thrilled to see how things would turn out for me.
I'm definitely looking forward to traveling around the US. I think NYC is at the top of that list. I got to look around Cali quite a lot, and I've also found out - I'm more of a beach person than a mountain person.
This is the first time I'm even writing something like this, so if you managed to make it to the end without having to gouge your eyes out, I'm proud of myself. Then again, I don't expect anyone to be reading this other than myself XD
